Job Description

Disney seeks a talented and well-rounded web developer to design and develop complete HTML5 web applications from the ground up in Javascript, Ruby, PHP and Python.

The ideal candidate has built an impressive portfolio of innovative web apps as the principal developer. While a strong focus will be on front end Javascript development, we are a small team of multi-talented developers, and prefer talented generalists to specialists – agile developers who are comfortable working on a variety of fast moving projects, sometimes simultaneously. We seek well-rounded individuals who are experienced in both front-end and back-end development, and can perform in both capacities as required to complete projects.

 

Responsibilities

You’ll work in a team of multi-disciplinary front-end developers, making social web applications, using Javascript/AJAX.

Our current team contains PHP, Python, Ruby and Flash developers. The more of these bridges you can cross, the better. Deep experience in at least two of these languages is a requirement.

You’ll be called upon to innovate front-end user interface design and come up with imaginative ways to enhance the user experience.

 

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in the high-tech industry
  • 4+ years of experience in web application development
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required; technical discipline preferred
  • Experience developing on social network platforms (YouTube, Twitter and especially Facebook APIs) is a plus
 

Required Skills

  • Javascript, JSON, HTML5, AJAX, XML
  • Two or more years of PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl, Java
  • Experience developing for at least one year working with REST API, such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube or Amazon
  • No fear when it comes to rolling up your sleeves and getting in the thick of it
  • Ambition to apply your experience to the most innovative and exciting development opportunities within social media
